Glenwood Springs trip

I'm back!
I quit blogging for a bit, but I'm going to make every attempt to blog more often!
Here are some pictures from our recent trip to Glenwood Springs, CO.  The hot springs were great and the girls had a lot of fun.

Coconuts

When we decided that we were going to go to Mexico, and one day when Rich took Shayne to school, he said to her "what are you looking forward to the most?"  Shayne said the coconuts, coconut trees and drinking coconut milk.  So Rich was bound and determined to make it happen for her.  On the second day, he found a small coconut under a tree and Shayne was happy.... I thought that the search for coconuts was over.  Boy was I wrong.

Shayne wouldn't let that small coconut down EVER!  She carried it with her around Mazatlan, it slept by the bed, etc.  Kind of crazy I know!  On the third day, we were one our way to another resort to swim in that pool and to try and go down town.  Well, Rich started talking to the bus driver and before I knew it, the bus driver agreed to speak to his gardener friend at the resort to get her a coconut so that she could drink the milk and take one home.  We knew that she wouldn't be able to take it back to CO, but Rich was determined to let her try the milk.  We had three HUGE coconuts waiting for us when we got back that day.  Rich took out his small knife, and cut of the top.... So, Shayne got to try coconut milk.

AND LOVED IT! She was so excited for the coconuts that it deserved its own post!

A little bit of everything.... and Mexico:)

I have been incredibly bad at blogging lately.  I enjoy reading all of my friends posts when they update their blog, but yet, I never have the ambition to do ours:( I'm going to work on this - or try anyway.

Whats new:

-Logan is 16 months now.
At her 15month check up she was:
22lbs 1 oz - 25th percent for weight
32 1/2 inches for height - 97th + for height

Logan still refuses to walk on her own.  I know that she knows how and can do it, but still lacks the confidence to do it alone.  The pediatrician said that we need to not force it on her and that we need to stop spoiling her buy picking her up all the time..... ooops.  I guess that's more my fault than hers.  We are both working on it.

Logan is loving her new daycare.  She has a friend name Charlie and plays with him all of the time!  From the moment that I drop her off, she wants down and crawls as fast as she can over to him.  I was a bit worried about how she would do at daycare, since it's a new place, but she loves it!

Shayne had her graduation from preschool today.  I will post pictures later.  It was adorable.... they sang a lot of songs, she got a certificate and her picture taken with her teachers.  The teachers asked each kid what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Each kid had replied with a doctor, dentist, teacher, etc.  Shayne said.... "I'M GOING TO BE A TEENAGER".  The teacher said, okay, what will you be after that?  Shayne replied "WELL OLD."  Everyone in the class burst into laughter.  Her teachers said that she's the sweetest, funniest kid in the class and that they just adore her.  Rich and I love hearing that of course.

Shayne also participated in a trike a thon for her preschool and raised money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Thanks to her Grandma and Grandpa Stenseth, Aunt Brittney, donations from friends and us - she raised the most money in the school!! We were gone when they did the re-run for the trike - a - thon, so she gets her own special make up day tomorrow and gets a special certificate.  She's so excited!!!

Shayne loved the underwater camera - I think this is 1 of 300 pictures under water.  She's becoming quite the swimmer

Shayne after she got her hair braided.

Little sister wants to do everything big sister is doing..... These are Shayne's googles and Logan was freaking out because she wanted them on.  What a goof!

Fun at the ocean

These two went everywhere in the stroller.  It was adorable and much easier to move about!

Logan kept trying to put her head in the water when we were taking all of the underwater pics.  So..... as any good parent would do LOL we dunked her.  The picture looks like she drank a TON of water, but she didn't.  Logan also wanted to do it over an over and over again, but I said twice was enough!

We went to Mexico last week as a family.  It was very relaxing and a fun trip.  We were at the pool almost every day and were in bed by 9 each night.  Who would have known that swimming ALL DAY LONG and not napping made everyone tired?

The pool had two kiddy pools, an infinity pool, regular pool and hot tubs.  It was amazing!

In our room, there were windows everywhere that had doors that shut for privacy.  Of course they were at Logan's reach, so this was one of her favorite parts I think of the trip!  Watching the birds outside and having everything at her level

Shayne wanted to be thrown time after time... over and over again.  She was the entertainment at the pool most days.  She knew almost everyones name at the resort.  "Hi Linda, Hi Laurie, Hi Rob, Hi Pam, Hi Pat, Hi.......etc Social Butterfly!!!!!

My family use to go down to Mazatlan a lot when I was young and the man in the middle, Roman is a good friend of my parents and grandparents.  He invited us to his house for lunch.  It was great seeing him again and having him meet my family.  Below is a picture of Roman's mom with Logan.... She LOVED Logan and would't let her go ~ it was quite cute! Logan was also fond of her as well.

At one of the restaurants that the resort that we ate at quite often, this hostess would say hello to Shayne every time she walked by the table.  "Hola Shayne"  The first night Shayne introduced herself to her and some of the waiters.  Since it was  lot of the same staff each day ~ everyone knew my 4 year old my name.  No joke!  "hola shayne" we heard everywhere and Shayne would reply "Hola and whatever their name was"  Mayer of Mazatlan I tell you!

Roman and Rich at his house

Logan fell asleep every day in her stroller by the pool for her afternoon nap.  She fit right in with all of the older people also sleeping LOL! Such a good baby!

DENVER

Finally! I started my job out in Denver on Friday, April 1st.  I am so excited to finally be out west and looking forward having a more routine schedule for the kids that won't be changed all the time.

We also got a new puppy!  She's actually doing well and Rowdy loves having her around.  Shayne named her Bowie - not sure where the name came from, but she was determined to name her Bowie - Bo for short.

The weather has been great out here - except for today - it's snowing.  I can't complain because we really need the moisture, otherwise, I guess fires can be a problem.  It was 85 in Denver yesterday, 78 in Conifer (where we live) and 29 today...... Crazy weather!

Denver Aquarium

I took the kids to the Denver Aquarium.  We were there for about three hours - it was a great time and we will go back soon.  A great place to take kids! The girls had a blast.

Shayne getting some "ink"
Finished tat - a bunny tattoo
Shayne loved the mermaids.  She got a picture with them and then when we  walked under the tunnel with all of the fish over the top of you, the mermaids got in to swim with the fish.  They swam around, waved at the kids, and acted like they were real mermaids.  Shayne thought it was the coolest thing ever!  Of course they played "under the sea" from the little mermaid while they swam.  She was in the front row, waving, with a big smile on her face!!  We will be going back again soon!

Shayne with the biggest fish ever!  Wow

Shayne wouldn't go near this ape in back of me.  I have to admit, it was a bit creepy! It was a robot, where it's eyes would blink, chest would move like it was breathing, etc.  It was very real looking!  Shayne said "no way, it's going to move when I go over to him." So I made Logan take a picture with me.  Good thing that she had no clue what was behind us, or she would have freaked out as well!

I love this age! Logan was so excited to see everything.  She loved the little fish and in the picture below, you will see a small turtle - she also loved to watch him/her swim back and forth.

We were still in the parking lot, leaving the aquarium.  After I put the kids in, loaded the stroller, and made a phone call outside of the car, I came back to the kids - Sleeping!  I guess I wore them out.  When do I get my nap??? LOL
